Groundwork North East delivers a wide range of services to local communities and organisations to assist with environmental regeneration. Through various partnerships, we help to inspire change through all walks of life, aiming to ensure a secure future for all.

The Environmental Business Services (EBS) team provides a range of services which are designed to help North East businesses and community organisations improve their use of resources, their environmental performance and promote best industry practice. This is becoming necessary and important due to increasingly stringent environmental legislation, corporate responsibility and public relations.
Services include:
  • Green Check Environmental reviews
The Green Check Environmental Review is a free service offered to small and medium sized organisations across the region, aiming to help them become more successful and competitive. Our team of qualified Environmental Business Service Advisors will undertake an audit of your site and provide you with a report which includes easy to implement recommendations to assist you to increase the efficiency and profitability of your organisation.
  • Consultancy
EBS practitioners can provide specialist advice across a range of environmental topics including the preparation and implementation of Environmental Management Systems and emergency response plans.
  • Training
Your business can benefit from environmental training in order to promote awareness of environmental issues and associated improvements. We offer both bespoke and Chartered Institute of Environmental Health accredited training courses covering a range of topics.
 
 
 
Delves Lane Case Study
We have been working in Delves Lane with great success and feedback. Bob Batey (Quality Manager) from KC Engineering was “thoroughly impressed” with the advice offered and detail of the support “referencing appropriate environmental legislation”. The half-day audit and subsequent report formalising the discussions and observations made “was thorough, to the point and highlighted relevant issues to the organisation”.
 
Organisations that have carried out Green Check Environmental Reviews have successfully reduced waste and energy costs, and identified potential income streams from recycling waste. It has helped to improve business planning, marketing and public relations, as well as improving employee motivation. Furthermore, whilst demonstrating legal compliance, carbon footprints have been calculated and reduced, giving the organisation better green credentials and management practices.
